Scarves got you tied up?
I’ll admit that I’m addicted to scarves. I blame it on my Inner French Girl! They don’t disappoint me when I gain weight, they cover a multiple of sins, they jazz up old outfits, create multiple looks when added to the same basic pieces, reclaim bad-hair days, brighten my mood– what’s not to love?

Wait Watchers
I was reading my buddy Amanda's July 14th blog Consequences: Eating and Organizing and it got me to thinking about another way eating and organizing are synchronized. Just as crash diets are bound to fail (and trust me- I've tried enough of them!) - so are crash organizing actions. You know the ones I mean~
Think Like A Blonde
The blonde I have in mind is Goldilocks. She understood the true meaning of fit - not too big, not too small - just right. This is a great principle to keep in mind when organizing your paper files (among other things!) Are your categories too big or too small or just right for you? A folder labeled "BILLS 2010"" is just too big and broad to find anything in easily. Likewise, a folder labeled "COMCAST-JUNE 2010 " is way too small and limiting as only one piece of paper would be filed here.
Long Distance Learning
I just got back from a wonderful vacation in England and, as always, the act of traveling taught me some great lessons.
Ending Home-less-ness
I believe that clutter is a state of home-less-ness and it's time to end this sad condition!
Everybody and everything needs and deserves a home, a place to call one's own. This is not an impossible task when dealing with our stuff. Here's 2 major causes that often result in home-less-ness:
The Keys to My Queendom
I can't travel far without my keys. They have a home on a little table by my front door - and they rarely run away from home. I've trained them well. And since I don't leave home without them- they've become my mini command center while I'm on the go. Not only do I carry my house keys (and keys to two other doors I have responsibility for) and car keys (and my husband's and my daughters's should they loose theirs or get locked out) - I also carry my frequent shopping cards, my gym card, hand sanitizer, pill fob from CVS (with allergy and pain meds plus a couple of as
The Spirit of Organization
I was chatting with the minister of my church the other day before a meeting when he mentioned that my Facebook posts made organizing sound like a spiritual event.
Mama's Got a Brand New Bag
Every year in honor of Earth Day (April 22) I try to add one new behavior to help Mama Earth. This year I'm singing the praises of my Baggler Bags. This cute little red pouch (6" x 7") comes with 3 sturdy nylon bags (each opening to 14" x 16") and easily holds 2 or 3 more. I keep it tucked in the door of my car so that it's ready to toss into my pocketbook when I go grocery shopping.
